Red Route Studio offers 24 track simultaneous digital recording straight to hard disk; we are fully mobile and can record in any location which can provide a single 13 amp socket; the session can then be mixed in a variety of Digital Audio Workstations.

A recording of a complete performance, this includes set up. It is advisable that the artist arrives at the venue as early as possible in order that the microphone positions and levels can be set. Although the number of performers and instruments dictate the amount of time that this requires, generally speaking a 5 piece band will take about 2 hours to set up. The time taken prior to performance will pay dividends when it comes to mixing, if you get a poor recording in, then you will get a poor recording out.....
We can also provide photographic services for use in your artwork for the finished product, we can also provide small runs of printed Cds with jewel cases and inlay cards. The cost of this can be provided on request, and is dependent on the size of run.
A copy of your performance will be supplied on CDr in a protective plastic wallet complete with DVD(s) with the recorded stems.

Our load-in studio allows you the artist to record in an environment that you are most comfortable in, allowing you to concentrate on what you need to do, record your music. Guerrilla recording allows you to record virtually anywhere, all we require is a single 13 amp socket. Allowing you to record in places such as a village hall, community centre, your local pub, even your front room!

Have you have ever wondered what the audience listening experience is when you play live? As an artist the proximity of amplifiers. monitors and drums to your ears will give you a very different listening experience from those of the audience in the venue. Now you can get a good representation of the audience listening experience using binaural recording.
Binaural recording is a method of recording sound that uses two microphones, arranged with the intent to create a 3-D stereo sound sensation for the listener of actually being in the room with the performers or instruments. This effect is often created using a technique known as "dummy head recording", wherein a mannequin head is outfitted with a microphone in each ear. Binaural recording is intended for replay using headphones and will not translate properly over stereo speakers.
Red Route Studio has replaced the "dummy head" with a real human head, although some would argue that there is not a lot of difference!!! This allows Red Route Studio to offer a binaural recording of one of your gigs, condenser microphones are mounted in a pair of earbuds which makes the recordist inconspicuous. Throughout your gig the recordist will move around the venue, even outside the venue if you would like, recording the evening's events. Using headphones for playback, you will be able to hear exactly what the engineer heard during your performance, from the man discussing his favourite football team's afternoon performance to the girl at the bar ordering a Martini and lemonade!
The resulting recording(s) will be transferred to CD without any additional processing. If you would like to release this recording as a CD or download (often used as bonus tracks) then we would be happy to Master it for you for at a very competitive price.
